The stage of the PLMJ Foundation will be the setting for a staged reading of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple, a famous American comedy that has been on Broadway for many years.
The play is the result of a co-production between the PLMJ Foundation and Sofá do Ator, and will be performed by a group of Portuguese actors directed by the actress Carlota Crespo. The author, Neil Simon, is considered one of the most successful, prolific and performative playwrights in the history of the theatre. He has won three Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
The play tells the story of Olive and her group of friends who, during their weekly night of Trivial Pursuit in Olive’s cluttered and ill-equipped flat, experience a caricatured peripeteia that reveals the clash of different personalities. The play will be performed in English, the original language of the text.
