Rui Serras (Elvas, 1970) lives and works in Lisbon. He studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon. In 1995 he was selected for the União Latina painting competition. In 1993 he participated in the exhibition Images for the 90s at the Serralves Foundation.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, he has exhibited his work individually and collectively in various institutions and galleries: Galeria Arte Periférica, Massamá and Lisbon; Galeria Zero, Algés; Galeria Quadrum, Lisbon; Centro de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra; Museu do Chiado, Lisbon; Culturgest, Lisbon; Galeria Fernando Santos, Porto; Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes, Lisbon; Galeria III, Porto, among others.
His works are represented in the collections of the PLMJ Foundation, the Museum of Chiado, the Serralves Foundation, Portugal Telecom, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, and M.E.I.A.C. de Badajoz, among others.
