Rui Horta Pereira was born in Évora (1975) and now lives and works in Lisbon. He graduated in sculpture from the FBAUL and since 2000 has been concentrating on sculpture and drawing. He is interested in how the construction of the creative process is inseparable from the action of the creator, in all its aspects - be they ethical, social or environmental - and how this relationship can be effectively realised. He has been exhibiting regularly since 2010 and is represented in the following collections: the State Collection of Contemporary Art / Ministry of Culture, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Art Library Collection, the Carmona e Costa Foundation Collection, the PLMJ Collection, the Berardo Collection, the Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection, the Luís Ferreira Collection, the Carlos Mimoso and Isabel Mendes Collection, the Tróia Design Hotel Contemporary Art Collection, and internationally: Tiqui Atencio Collection (Monaco), Coleción Art Fairs (Spain), Kells Art Collection (Spain), Carlos Garaicoa Collection (Spain) and Regina Pinho Collection (Brazil). He is represented by Salgadeiras Arte Contemporânea.
