Pedro Proença (Lubango, Angola, 1962) lives and works in Lisbon. He studied art at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes and the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa. In 1982 he founded the Movimento Homeostético, together with the artists Fernando Brito, Ivo, Pedro Portugal, Manuel João Vieira and Xana. His first solo exhibition was in 1984 and since then he has exhibited in Portugal and abroad. In 1988 he participated in the Aperto section of the Venice Biennale.
