Paulo Mendes is a trained visual artist, curator, editor and producer of cultural projects. He has been presenting his work individually and collectively since the early 90s. His work is characterised by the contamination of different disciplines in a critical approach to the contemporary political, economic and social context.
His work is represented in numerous public and private collections. In the course of thirty years of work, he has participated in around three hundred exhibition and performance projects and has curated and produced more than ninety independent and institutional exhibitions, which have marked the development of the work of a new generation of creators and provided him with an extensive knowledge of artistic practices in Portugal.
