Nuno Ramalho

Nuno Ramalho was born in 1975. He lives and works in Porto. He holds a degree in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (1999), a Masters in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute (2008) and a PhD from the FBAUP (2020), which he started at Goldsmiths. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions since 1999, spanning design, installation, sculpture, performance, sound, video and curatorial practice. He is also responsible for Playlist, a monthly series of video art exhibitions in Portugal, which he started in 2006.
He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, the United States, Norway, Russia and Germany. In 2002 he was a resident artist at Triangle France in Marseille, France, and in 2004 he was one of the nominees for the EDP New Artists Award. He was a Fulbright/Carmona e Costa Foundation grantee in 2006 and 2007 and also received the Louise Woods Memorial Scholarship. His work is represented in institutions such as the PLMJ Foundation, CAV, Novo Banco and the Serralves Foundation, as well as in various private collections.
