Miguelangelo Veiga was born in Lisbon (1974), where he lives and works. He has a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and his research centres on the visual arts, particularly drawing and painting.
He has been exhibiting since 2000, including his participation in the OLHO de Portugal Independent Theatre Group, between 1993-1998, and exhibitions such as O Sítio das Artes (2007), at the Modern Art Centre, promoted by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, and Loop: Contemporary Video Art from the EU (2010), representing Portugal at the National Portrait Gallery, Washington.
Also noteworthy are the exhibition Variations Portugaises (2018), at the Abbaye Saint Andre Contemporary Art Centre - CAC Meymac, France, and the exhibition Constelações: A Choreography of Minimal Gestures at the Museu Coleção Berardo, Lisbon.
Represented in Portuguese and international collections such as the PLMJ Foundation, the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, CAPC, Al Maqam (Mohamed Mourabiti, Morocco), Assilah Forum Foundation (Morocco), and Al Asmakh Collection (Qatar).
