Maria Pia Oliveira was born in Lisbon (1964), where she still lives and works. She studied Fine Arts at Ar.Co, Lisbon, and at the School of Visual Arts, New York, and works in various media, including sculpture, installation, drawing, photography, video, and ceramics. She has been exhibiting regularly since the 1990s. Between 2006 and 2013 she participated in and organised the exhibitions of Coletivo Laboratório.
