Maimuna Adam (Maputo, 1984) is a Mozambican visual artist who works with mixed media, including painting, book sculptures, and video art. She holds a degree in fine arts from the University of Pretoria (South Africa). Adam participated in the 6th São Tomé and Príncipe Biennial (2011), the project Entre ali e aqui at the Mozambique-Germany Cultural Institute for the MUVART’12 Biennial (Maputo), and Odyssées Africaines (2015) in Brussels.
She received the PLMJ Foundation Video Art Prize (2012) and an honourable mention at the TDM’09 Biennial. Her works are included in the collections of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the EDP Foundation, and the PLMJ Foundation. She is a member of the Kulungwana Association and collaborates in workshops and exhibitions.
