Luiz Carvalho

Luiz Carvalho, a Portuguese photographer born in Lisbon (1954), is recognised for his work in the field of documentary and artistic photography. He graduated from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts and developed his career from the 1980s onwards, dedicating himself to capturing urban and social reality. He has taken part in several solo and group exhibitions, including Memórias de Lisboa and Cidades em Movimento. His works are in collections such as those of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the PLMJ Foundation and the Museum of Lisbon. The artist also teaches, passing on his knowledge and passion for photography to new generations.
