Luísa Ferreira

Luísa Ferreira (Lisbon, 1961) is a well-known Portuguese photographer. She has been teaching photojournalism as a guest lecturer at IADE since 1996 and at ETIC since 1998. Originally trained in geography, she decided to switch to photography and began her professional career in the 1980s. She worked as a photojournalist, including seven years with the newspaper Público and two years with the Associated Press agency, before retiring in 1998, although she continues to collaborate with the press.
She has been exhibiting individually since 1989, with projects such as Os objetos já não têm cores (1993), Capitão Goma (2003) and Há quanto tempo trabalha aqui? (2005), about old Lisbon shops. She has also taken part in group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, including ARCO98, and has regularly photographed Portuguese writers. She is represented in several national and international collections.
