José Pedro Croft was born in Porto (1957) and lives and works in Lisbon. His work always begins with an investigation into the processes of perception, blending the visual, plastic, and poetic dimensions of the objects he creates.
His work has been exhibited in various solo and group exhibitions internationally, and he was selected to represent Portugal at the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017. His work can be found in the collections of Centre Georges Pompidou (FR), the Albertina Museum (AT), the Serralves Foundation (PT), the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum (PT), the Luso-American Foundation (PT), the PLMJ Foundation (PT), the Portuguese Ministry of Culture (PT), the Berardo Museum (PT), Caixa Geral de Depósitos (PT), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (ES), Fundació La Caixa (ES), Banco de España (ES), the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro (BR), and Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo (BR), among others.
