João Galrão (Sintra, 1975) lives and works in Lisbon. He studied Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, and Painting at Ar.Co, Lisbon.
He has been exhibiting regularly since the early 2000s. Selected solo exhibitions: Galerias Graça Brandão, Porto; Hammer Sidi, London; Vera Cortês Art Agency, Lisbon; Casa Triângulo, São Paulo; The Chemistry Gallery, Prague.
Since 1996, he has participated in several group exhibitions, including (selection): Exposição de Estudantes do Ar.Co, 1999, 2000, and 2001; Liberdade Provisória 2011, Lisbon; Museu das Comunicações, Lisbon; Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon; 2002, O Quarto do Collector, Galeria Canvas, Porto; 2003, 48ème Salon de Montrouge, Montrouge, Barcelona, and Amarante; Galeria Luís Adelantado, Valencia.
His works are represented in collections such as CAM/Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the PLMJ Foundation, Bergé Collection, among others.
