Graça Sarsfield (Porto, 1947) lives and works in Porto. She attended the advanced photography course at Cooperativa Artística Árvore (now ESAP) and participated in various workshops in Portugal and Spain. She was awarded a grant by the Secretary of State for Culture to study at The Polytechnic of Central London (PCL) and received a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation grant to work at the American Center in Paris, France, as well as a Fundação Oriente grant for a photographic project in India. Over the years, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented in several institutional collections, including those of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the PLMJ Foundation, Novo Banco, Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, and private collections. She co-authored the book Vozes e Olhares no Feminino (Retratos de Escritoras), published as part of Porto Capital of Culture 2001. Her work has been featured in various Portuguese and international newspapers and magazines.
