Fernando Curado Matos

Fernando Curado Matos (Moscavide, 1953) works as a freelance photographer, specialising in sports photojournalism, and as a photography teacher. He holds a Professional Journalist Card issued by the CCPJ (Commission for Professional Journalist Accreditation). He was a founding member of the Grupo Íris, participating in its exhibitions and publications. In 1986, he received a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation for aesthetic research in photography, resulting in the exhibition Corpo da Terra.
He has exhibited regularly since 1972, presenting both solo and group exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and Tunisia. He participated in the project CONCEPTOS with a piece featuring 12 photographs at the Vostell Museum in Malpartida de Cáceres (Museum of Contemporary Art).
