Célia Domingues

Célia Domingues (Évora, 1978) completed her degree in Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (1996–2002), and an Advanced Course at Maumaus School in Lisbon (2000–2003). She earned her master's in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Art & Design, London, in 2007. During her career, she was awarded grants from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, in 2005 and 2007. In 2004, she undertook an artist residency at Casa de Velázquez, Madrid. Her solo exhibitions include The Tea of Hospitality (2008) at Galeria Sete, Coimbra; AC #10 (2006) at Artecontempo, Lisbon; and Ama de Casa (2004) at Casa de Velázquez, Madrid, among other projects. Domingues has participated in various group exhibitions, such as Materiais Transitórios (2016) at the  Portuguese National Society of Fine Arts (SNBA), Lisbon; Hetero q.b (2013) at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Lisbon; ArtWiki (2012), a platform at the 7th Berlin Biennale, Germany; and Water Closet (2010), curated by Puppenhaus at LXFactory, Lisbon.
