Andrea Inocêncio

Andrea Inocêncio (Coimbra, 1977) is a visual artist and performer.
She has been exhibiting and performing regularly in European and American countries for over two decades.
She is represented in private and institutional collections and has received various grants and awards, including support from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Canada), a grant from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm), the Serralves em Festa Artistic Projects Competition (Porto), the INOV-ART/DGArtes grant (Barcelona), grant from the Camões Institute (Argentina), the Eurodissée grant (Paris), the PAAD grant - Atlantic Digital Art Project (Canary Islands), the artistic creation grant from DRAC - Regional Directorate of Culture (Azores) and the Createur d'aujourd'hui award from the Federation Nationale de la Culture Française (France).
She is currently a doctoral candidate in Contemporary Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Coimbra. She is a researcher at GECAPA/CLEPUL, Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon, and co-organiser of the Arts-Informed Research Network at CES - Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra. Andrea co-founded the performance collective Malparidas with Valeria Cotaimich (AR/ES) and Melina Peña (MX/ES). She is also the author of Eu, a Fotografia e a Performance, from the REFLEX collection, published by The Portfolio Project. She was a visiting lecturer in Visual Arts at ESEC - Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (2010-2012).
