Ana Bezelga was born in Lisbon (1979), where she still lives and works.
She studied Fine Arts at Maumaus and Visual Arts at the Malmö Art Academy (Sweden), with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
She is currently completing her Doctorate in Visual Arts at the University of Évora, with a research grant from the FCT.
Her work has been exhibited in several countries, including the following exhibitions: The Art of Critical Thinking and Transmuting Experience, Kunstraum Innsbruck, (2004); Impromptu, Skånes Konstförening, Malmö (2009); The Story Framer, Wip: sthlm, Stockholm (2010); Lunds Konsthall Presentation, Lund (2011); A Casa do Firmino, Temporary Art Centre, Eindhoven (2011).
In 2009 Bezelga received the Edstrandska Foundation Art Prize and in 2010 the Aase & Richard Björklund Foundation Annual Prize.
