Alexandre Estrela (Lisbon, 1971) has a degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he was an artist in residence at the International Studio and Curatorial Projects (2002-2003). He was responsible for the Hi8 video festival, which showcased a new generation of multimedia artists. Since 2004, he has been teaching video at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
