The PLMJ Foundation's collection is mainly on display in all the common spaces, but also in the offices of PLMJ, Sociedade de Advogados, in Lisbon, its headquarters, and in the offices in Porto and Faro.
News RoomThe PLMJ Foundation began to build its collection more than 20 years ago. It started with painting, drawing and sculpture, always with Portuguese-speaking artists at the beginning of their careers. Today, the photography core of the collection is perhaps the most prominent, both in terms of the number of works and the artists represented. It reflects the importance of this medium at the beginning of the 21st century. Although smaller in number, the video core - curated with a unique approach - is one of the undeniable highlights of the collection.
The collection of the PLMJ Foundation now comprises more than 1,300 works and more than 500 artists represented. These works can be viewed in the PLMJ Foundation's gallery, and a significant part of the collection is displayed in the offices of PLMJ's staff and lawyers, who have the opportunity to choose the works that accompany them each day.
This presence of art in PLMJ's rooms and corridors, this promotion of access to and curiosity about art in PLMJ's community of staff and lawyers is a central aspect of the institution's internal culture.
Some of the works in the collection are in the offices that are part of the PLMJ Colab co-operation network, namely the PLMJ Colab Angola office, RVA Advogados, in Luanda. Many of the works on display can be visited by appointment.
In the case of Lisbon, there is a permanent gallery with annual group exhibitions in which different works from the collection are shown, as well as new acquisitions. At the PLMJ Foundation gallery, as well as at the Auditorium in the same building in Lisbon, we organise various events that you can follow in the News Room.
To visit these and other spaces, please contact us using the contact details above.
